// Our Old Friend, June //

June is definitely one my most beloved months as we transition to a new season, summer.

One of my favorite things about this new season is the tranquility of its mornings— birds wistfully chirping a sweet tune, a warm summer breeze whistling through the trees, and of course, the warmth of the summer sun gleaming through the clouds. It’s in these mornings that I enjoy simply sitting outside, taking it all in, reading and writing, and silently thanking God that He has made Creation so beautiful. Yesterday, I felt inspired to write about a few of the many reasons as to why the month of June is always “one for the books” for me.

The tender caress of a summer breeze

Whistles a familiar tune,

Gingerly rustling betwixt the trees,

Welcoming its old friend, June.

The honeyed trace of flowers and spice

Marries with the chill of dew,

And with herbs such as basil, parsley, thyme,

Welcoming its old friend, June.

The rosy gleam of glistening sunbeams

Unite with the sky so blue,

Glossing the reflection of still, sweet streams,

Welcoming its old friend, June.
